Your local neighbourhood team is urging parents to stay vigilant when buying toys. Fake toys are often made of toxic, hazardous, and flammable materials that do not meet UK safety standards.

The Risks:

Toxic Chemicals: Many seized fakes contain high levels of lead and phthalates, which can cause serious long-term health problems.

Fire Hazards: Materials used in counterfeits are often highly flammable and lack the required fire-retardant treatments.

Choking Risks: Poorly made toys frequently have small parts that break off easily, posing a lethal risk to infants.

How to Stay Safe:

Check for the CE or UKCA mark on packaging.

Be wary of "too good to be true" prices from unofficial online sellers.

Inspect packaging for spelling errors or poor-quality images.

If you suspect a shop or seller in the Wednesfield or Heath Town area is selling dangerous fakes, please report it to Trading Standards or via 101.
